Respect for the dead: When removing flowers from a grave

It is quite common in almost all cultures, to lay flowers at the grave during the funeral. In actual service, it is not uncommon for a large number of people to bring floral arrangements and family may also have a funeral wreath or device created to remember their loved ones. The question remains, however, when to actually remove these flowers.

Cemetery Rules

It 'important to follow the rules of the cemetery first. If they do not allow the flowers to stay after the funeral, then it is a good idea to know this ahead of time. You can ask people to refrain from carrying flower arrangements and make sure to remove the crown funeral at the time of departure.

This type of flower can be left longer, but soon shows signs of becoming dirty or in disorder, usually a couple of months after the funeral, it's time to retire the flowers.

It is best to clear away any old flowers on a regular basis after the funeral, to keep the grave clean and tidy. The addition of fresh flowers back to the cemetery from time to time will ensure that your deceased loved one is remembered and removing any old flowers or die is simply a respectful thing to do.
